Richard
Sobol is a freelance photojournalist who has worked for many years with
the major news magazines like Time, Newsweek, People, and Business Week.
He has also worked extensively on documenting presidential campaigns.
As freelance assignments started to become more scarce about 10 years
ago, he turned towards longer term projects where he could also maintain
more control over his published work. Since then he has established himself
as a leading wildlife photographer, documenting the illegal trade in endangered
wildlife for various conservation groups and publications. His work is
sold by several agencies, including Zuma
Press. Richard is also spending more time on book projects. I talked
with him in March 2001.
